A Pop of Color

The day after Thanksgiving where everyone rushes to the stores and I rush to Malibu to enjoy the heat wave. This dress was bought during the Zara sales for 20 bucks and through past experiences I have learned that the best time to go shopping is after Christmas or end of summer. I always find the best deals and the cutest things.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! This is a dress I had bought years ago for 2 bucks from the Forever 21 sale section and never wore it. Today I decided why not giving it a try and added a belt to make it more form fitting. The bag is my mom's back from the 70's and I just grabbed because I thought it fit the look/era. Not sure if I would wear this dress again but I wouldn't mind adding a skirt and
wearing it as a top.

First Holiday Party of the Season.

Tonight is my first official Holiday Party that I have been invited to. It's a Friendsgiving where everyone brings a can to donate to the Los Angeles Homeless Shelter. I decided to throw on this Kenneth Cole Sweater and a skirt since it is warm again here in Los Angeles. I had bought the skirt when I saw Atlantic Pacific wearing something similar and I tried resembling but with a shiny sweater to bring out some holiday cheer tonight. What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Hot Toddy

Winter is around the corner and that means fireplaces, wool socks, and blanket scarves! This is the time that while everyone poor glasses and glasses of eggnog, I sip away on my
hot toddy smiling and enjoying the sweetness and warmth. It's an easy drink to make and I'm sure you have all the ingredients necessary sitting in your cabinets. Give it a shot this year and let me know what you think.

please be advised that this drink contains alcohol. Photos are not mine and can be removed if requested by owner.

A French Connection

I saw similar outfit like this floating around the web and I thought why can't I wear that for a fraction of the price. I had just bought the jacket at Ross a few days earlier and I realized I had almost everything needed. I couldn't decide if I should wear the hat or not so I took it with me, even though it looks like I'm enjoying the hat. What do you think hat or not?

The Wish List

The Wish List

The Wish List by christineazniv featuring Royal Apothic beauty products

Since the Holiday's are around the corner I know I am overwhelmed with what to get everyone on my list. I started from what I would preferably want to then what the fiancé might appreciate. There are plenty of cooks, and kids out there who we sometimes forget. If these ideas are not as fun, there is always DinnerLab, a little pricey but sounds intriguing, a secret venue with a secret chef, I'm in! Anyway, hope you enjoy this set and please share any ideas you may have. Also, here is a great option for gift wrapping or if that's out of your budget then there is the good old maps that you can get from any hotel or tourist section.

Can't Stop Twirling

When it comes to my style, I tend to change it based on my mood. It can range from ‘classic’, ‘preppy’, ‘modern’, and ‘trendy’. I was thrilled when eShakti approached me to collaborate because their style of clothing is not only classy and chic but also well fitting to any occasion or mood.

In today’s post I’m wearing their embellished bib pin stripe dress and I love it! I couldn’t stop twirling in it! Their service was so great and quick that I was worried about the material but once I received the dress and opened the package, I was in shock! The dress sits perfectly (I just have a long torso so I do wish it was a little lower, which they do customize too) and the material and quality was perfect. Coming from a huge DIY dress maker (mom and daughter), I was surprised to see such
great work.

Since the holidays are on their way, it makes sense to start looking for those perfect outfits for the parties and eShakti has not only made it simple and quick but they are also offering 10% off when you use the code concreterunwayla valid from 11/17/2014 – 12/17/2014 . Can be used with other promotional codes and various times within the month.
 Happy Shopping!

My Favorite Backless Dress

I had forgotten about this beautiful dress until I came across it when I was cleaning out my closet. This was my prom dress that I had my mother cut and shorten the length and take the left over material and make a bow on the back (removable). The shoes do not match as much as I hoped for my I love them just as much that I had to wear them!

Knitted Sweater Dress

The weather was chilly enough for a warm dress but not cold enough to cover myself head to toe today. I threw on this knitted sweater which was perfect for going around town and running some errands. I had to add the bag that is hated by everyone but I can't stop using because it's light and a suede and leather bag that I bought from Urban Outfitters years ago (possibly late 90's early 00's) for 10 bucks! Why would I not use it?

Coffee and Flowers

I love fresh picked flowers especially when they are so colorful and vibrant! I spent my morning grabbing coffee and buying flowers from the local Farmer's Market. The weather here is unseasonably very warm so a pair of shorts and this jacket was the perfect combination to keep me cool and warm.

Matte Top Coat Review

Happy Saturday! I have been in love with the new matte nail polish colors that I have been seeing on various blogs and pinterest pages lately that I decided to try it at home. Yes, I will admit, I am not the best at applying nail polish and I move way too much so I do apologize for the messy job and the not clear photos. Anyway, I woke up today with a mission to find a top coat and give it a go, the only brand that I found was Sally Hansen big matte top coat at Walgreens and gave it a go.

Here they are lined up waiting for me.

I started with one of my favorite base coats and it is a gel based from Revlon, which leaves the nail bed smooth and strong. It does say it can be used as a top coat but I have never tried it to let you know how it is.

I followed it by applying my go to nail polish brand and color, dress to kilt by Essie. I can never get enough of any of the colors made from this brand and this one just fits the 3 seasons out of the year for me.

I was finally ready to add my matte top coat! At first I didn't notice the difference and as it dried more the matte finish started to show.

Here is a comparison of the matte finish and one without. It's not very clear but the best I can do with my iPhone.

I finally finished all my nails and if I had the talent like most people do then I think it would've turned out great but I am still happy with my results and as I finish this post they are becoming more matte as it dries. I can't wait until I try it on other colors, however I think I will ask someone else to do since I clearly didn't do such a great job. What do you think of the new matte trend?

60's Chic for Work

This dress was my mom's dress back in the day when she was my age. She designed it and sewed it on her own and it is my go to dress for a lot of things. I think it is a flattering color and perfect for meetings (like today) and for feeling feminine and chic.

Feeling the Pink

When wearing black and white, I believe that people need to add a pop of color. This bag and shoes just work perfectly for me. I love these shoes! I bought them for 13 bucks including taxes and I cannot get enough of them! I believe that every girl needs a good pair(s) of heels and this is one of mine out of my few.
